- Work instructions are used to determine job requirements, including location, type of installation, tolerances, process, finish and quality
- Installation location and sequence are planned
- Procedures are determined for checking quality at each stage of the process
- Work health and safety (WHS) requirements, including personal protection needs, are observed throughout the work
- Hardware, fittings and attachments are collected
- Tools and equipment suitable for installation are identified and checked for safe and effective operation
- Fixing and joining devices are selected in line with work instructions and types of materials
- Required installation aids are selected and checked for suitability for purpose
- Complete installation
- Site is prepared for installation
- Furnishing products are prepared to site requirements
- Hand and/or power tools and equipment are used in accordance with workplace requirements, including use of personal protective equipment
- Fixing methods are undertaken according to site conditions
- Installed furniture product is checked for compliance with specification
- Tops and/or appliances are installed in accordance with plans and specifications
- Hardware and decorative accessories are installed
- Work is checked against required quality standards
- Finalise operation and maintain equipment
- Work area is cleaned, hand and/or power tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored in accordance with workplace procedures
- Machinery is cleaned and left in a safe mode
- Faulty and/or defective equipment is tagged and reported in accordance with workplace practices
- Unused hardware is collected and stored for re-use or disposal following workplace procedures
- Waste and scrap materials are dealt with following workplace procedures
